AC Power Adapter for Macbook Pro Retina 15"
Compatible to models after 2012.06
The 85W MS 2 Power Adapter features a magnetic DC connector so if someone should trip over it, the cord disconnects harmlessly and your MacBook Air stays put safely. It also helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.
When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector lights up; an amber light lets you know that your notebook is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge.
Designed to be the perfect traveling companion, the adapter has a clever design which allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.
This power adapter recharges the lithium polymer battery while the system is off, on, or in sleep mode. It also powers the system if you choose to operate without a battery.

Temperature and using the MS Power Adapter
The power adapter may become very warm during normal use as it dissipates operational heat through the adapter casing. The MS 1 and MS 2 Power Adapters comply with the user-accessible surface temperature limits defined by the International Standard for Safety of Information Technology Equipment (IC 60950-1). To reduce the possibility of overheating the power adapter or of heat-related injuries, do one of the following:
- Plug the Power Adapter directly into a power outlet or surge proctor using the AC Plug, making sure there is airflow around the adapter.
- If you're using the AC power cord, place the Power Adapter on a desk, table, or on the floor in a well-ventilated location. Avoid thick carpet, bedding, or furniture that would impact airflow on the adapter as those items may trap heat radiated from the adapter case. Similarly, avoid prolonged contact between yourself and the adapter brick when the adapter is in use. The AC power cord is not included.
Note: The connector on your Power Adapter may vary based on your computer. Additionally the AC cord and AC plug style may vary based on your country.
