Exceeds my expectations. The box is surprisingly sturdy and holds the canvas at whatever angle you'd like. There are wing nuts (nuts with wings that allow you to tighten them by hand) holding up the hinge and the top part of the holder which make it easy to adjust and tighten as needed. I never had it loosen when using it with my 18x24" canvas. However, the palette is pretty cheap and I will probably throw it out. I got an acrylic one instead and it works much better.

These are good silicone kitchen tongs. Silicone is better than nylon because if you accidentally leave it in a hot pan, it wont melt. I believe silicone can resist heat up to 1000 degrees, which is much much better than nylon or other cheap plastic. In terms of quality, it seems like this will last a long time, although the mechanism is similar to other (cheaper) ones that have failed me. I do wish they were longer, but that's my fault for not checking how long 9" is.
