overall, considering price, they are great. If you're comparing to the obvious competition, that rack is better in every possible way. BUT - this is a great alternative. You can buy about 4 of these for the price of 1 of them. The installation of these racks is a bit strange. The bolts don't line up perfectly above one another, so you can't drill into the middle of a wall stud, you have to slightly stagger your holes which doesn't make sense. It also wants 4 massive bolts which seems like overkill (I only used 2 and that's more than enough for XL 29ers). The base isn't great either, it's just a little "stump" rather than something to hold the bottom wheel. But, despite this, still 5 stars, but my best bikes get the other more expensive rack.
