The magnetic strips fell off of the underside of my desk within a day. They will not stick well at all though other things do as it is a laminated surface and should stick very easy to it.

This works quite well with my sit/stand desk. You need to arrange smaller cables first and then larger ones to ensure smaller ones remain in the openings, but generally no issues.
