Thank you for your feedback, lloyd_l! We're sorry to hear the mat didn't meet your thickness expectations. Our chair mat is crafted from high-quality, Phthalate-Free translucent PVC — while it has a slim profile, it is extremely tough and durable, designed to withstand the daily pressure of chair casters on carpet. The underside spikes ensure a firm grip to the carpet, preventing slipping and allowing smooth chair movement. Many customers find it performs excellently once it lays flat. If you have further concerns, please reach out to us — we'd love to make it right for you!

Site is easy to read and navigate. Not true for many other sites. Lots of other stuff to choose from as well. When I get time, I'll have a good look. Thanks!
