At best 14 gauge, not 12. I don't know about the quality of the cable, but this is misrepresentation as the roll and even the sleeve mentions 12 gauge when it's not. See picture comparisons with an actual 12 gauge. I hope they sorry this out. Return was not a problem.

For the price it should be fine. I did notice the strands were not as tightly wound as my current 12awg speaker wire. Not sure how many strands the Prime Cable 12awg wire has compared to my current 12awg wire, but it appears to be less. I would rate it as an econo speaker wire. Fits the Prime cable banana plugs without any problems.

PrimeCables 12AWG OFC is an excellent wire for small HT surround speakers. Jacket is soft and easy to strip. Length was exactly 100ft. For the front speakers or large HT I'd go with 10AWG or braid this one. Highly recommended for the money. Get good banana plugs and you'll be set.
