I purchased the VOKING 430 (for Canon) about one year and have not been disappointed; this has flash exceeded my expectations for the price. I wanted to start getting into external flash photography without a major outlay of cash, and this unit fits the bill. The flash has been working well since my purchase, and I have used it successfully for in a variety of photo situations. I purchased this flash mainly because of the special sale price at the time. For someone just starting out this flash would be fine. My only complaint is that when it is slave mode it really has to be direct line of site of the flash. It does not work as a slave in my modifiers.

Very good bang for the buck. Keep expectations reasonable - this is a low-to-medium power flash. A direct trigger link for off-camera work, such as a pc or 1/8" socket would have been welcome. Nifty "Stroboflash" mode. Instructions are quite clear, with a few translation hiccups.

Seriously for a $40 external flash for Nikon.. How could you go wrong? The unit is a little noisy and the auto zoom feature lags a bit. The unit other that those 2 flaws works perfectly fine with my Nikon. Its a good buy for an amateur to casual user of a SLR. No setup required. Just put the Batteries in and use the unit. Got it in 3 days im located in Toronto.
