The sail shade was no longer working for our deck which is 12x12ft. thai works really well. The shade material is thin, but this was a great deal for the price. I'm buying an extra shade just in case this one doesn't last long then I'll have one on standby. Highly recommend. shipping was also quick. This is my second purchase of this product as I needed a bit more coverage/shade in my garden when having a few people visit. Every visitor has remarked at how simple and easy these umbrellas are to operate (5-10 seconds to put it up or take it down). I have seen some complaints about these things falling over but you have to understand, all offset patio umbrellas require some kind of weight or weighted system (or bolted to a deck) to hold them in place in windy conditions.

I have had this in tan in my yard for 3 years. We leave it out all winter but cover it during the cold months with an umbrella bag. The conditions here are wet and cold for about 6 months a year. No rust, no fading...still looks brand new. LOVE this umbrella, such a deal.

This is OK. It does nave a really cheap plastic sleeve that is necessary for locking the arm in place & it definitely isn't going to last long. It also can not be set up without heavy weighs on it or screwed down, even on a non windy day. With wind, even when weighted, it must be collapsed.

I find tha when it is fully extended it is hard for me to reach the umbrella control and I am 5'2" tall, but on the other hand when it is fully extended I would like it a little higher... for the money invested it is a good umbrella for shade purposes.

first off, even though its obvious, you need a solid base for it. Very easy to handle when propping up and it is very light, yet doesn't feel flimsy. The steel quality was great - overall felt sturdy. However, note that the 'important' pieces were actually plastic - this would be the cantilever adjustment and the locking mechanism. I already saw the one that I got had warped. The umbrella fabric felt good, and felt heavy duty enough to probably not fade - the stitching however was not the greatest.
