The finish is OK...most of the edges are sanded down but there are brittle/broken pieces on "inside" of some edges. Some of the curved tops have uneven rounding, if that matters to anyone. One of the pieces also had a bunch of strange gray splotches over it that didn't look like bamboo grain. After assembling it wasn't *super* level, but it still works the way I wanted it to and I don't plan to move it around, so still think it's pretty good value. As others have mentioned, there are no instructions, so I looked at the product photos online to assemble it. What's not obvious is that you need to install the bottom-right horizontal shelf with the correct piece of bamboo (i.e., the piece with the 2 holes drilled into the underside of the horizontal surface). Those holes for you to place the two provided blunt slidey-metal knobs, that let you slide the shelf along the groove of the bottom-left shelf's topside horizontal surface.

Les gougeons pour faire glisser restent coincés parce que la rainure n'est pas appropriée ni lisse, l'arbitre verticale sur l'image est à environ 1 po- 11/2, alors que dans la boîte sur la planche elle est à 1/4 de po.les morceaux assemblés ne sont ps adaptés pour le fonctionnement comme démontré sur l'image.puis aucune instructions pour le montage. Vraiment désolant

Mine arrived with no instructions, a couple of bigger chips, and one hold that was drilled at the wrong location, so I cannot say that setup was exactly a dream. I was able to patch it up with some wood filler and a few trials and I was able to figure out how to assemble it, but that did make the experience less then I would expect. I am still happy with it excluding the issues as I was able to extend it out to fill the "coffee nook" space in its entirety which allows me to take my storage vertically.

I love this little shelf and can see it working in many areas. I am only giving it 4 stars as the product we got had some irregularly drilled holes and it does not sit flat, so I hope to Return it, but order 2 more. It came with no assembly instructions and was quite a challenge to put the pieces together correctly, Only to find that I need to take it apart and send it back since it is not sitting flat.
