Directions are pictures only so needs a bit of thought putting pieces in order. Not really large but big enough to put in our yard without taking a large space. I probably spent close to an hour putting the drum together (so many little nuts and bolts) Then it came time to put the frame together which was very easy, I noticed the main axle the drum spins on was not in the package. I ended up using an old metal broom handle as the axle. I'm still very happy with it overall
