I am happy with the purchase. I think it will work well for my diy stuff. It is my first power planer so have no experience to compare it to. It worked well, with the xtr battery i had it is a bit heavy but a regular battery I think would be a different feel. unfortunately there was some user error the first time using it I checked for screws in the work area but had missed one. It of course shattered the blade. I finished what I needed with it but was using a much narrower width with the remaining blade. The removed blade in the picture actually had both ends shattered not just the one side that hit the screw. Now I am waiting to get some replacement blades. Looks like they are easy enough to change, at least removal of the old one was easy enough. Seems like the holder needs to slide out the end rather than the tightening nuts releasing enough to just drop in and out.
